GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

 The International Journal of Adolescent Medicine and Health (IJAMH) provides an international and interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of review articles, original articles, case reports, short communications, letters to the editor and book reviews in the field of adolescence. The IJAMH is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal.

 Submissions

 Manuscripts are received with the understanding that they have not been submitted to other scientific or medical journals or other publication and if accepted copyright is transferred to Freund Publishing House Ltd.

 Manuscripts involving human and animal studies should have received formal approval by the author(s) Institutional Review Board, and clinical studies must adhere to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.

 Manuscripts

The manuscript should be in English and submitted by e-mail to the editor as attachment (Rich Text Format).

 The IJAMH follows the "Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals" (also called the Vancouver style, see http://www.acponline.org/journals/ resource/unifreqr.htm) determined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.

 The manuscript should have the following components in numbered order and each beginning on a new page:

 1)       Title page with a concise and informative title, full name of author(s) with academic degree(s) and departmental or institutional affiliations of each author. If a version of the paper has been presented or published before please specify that information with full reference at this point. The corresponding author should be designated with name, title, full address, business and home phone numbers, fax numbers and email address.

 2)       Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and incorporate background, objective, study group, methods, results and conclusions. At least three key words should appear under the abstract.

 3)       Text should be under the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledge­ment, References, Tables and Figures with each category starting on a new page.

 4)       References (maximum of 25 for articles, 40 for review articles and 5 for case reports) should be cited consecutively (enclosing the number in parenthesis) in the text and listed in the same numerical order at the end of the paper. The Vancouver Style is required as follows:

 5)       Tables should have a line under the column headings only.

 6)       Figures should be submitted in one original print and three copies. Originals must be of a quality suitable for reproduction.

 Page charge and reprints

From January 2008 this journal has introduced page charge (30 US$ per final printed page) for each accepted paper. You will receive an invoice directly from the publisher. Please pay promptly in order for your paper to be published. Twenty-five reprints and a copy of the journal will be supplied free of charge to corresponding author. Additional reprints are available at a special rate from the publisher. Order forms for this purpose will be included when page proofs are sent to authors.
