TRANSFER OF AUTHOR COPYRIGHT
Please provide a release of copyright addressed to Freund
Publishing House Ltd., which should include the title of the article, date, and
must be signed by all the authors.
ETHICS OF INVESTIGATION
Authors should identify whether ethical standards were used in
their research; for example whether informed consent was obtained, etc., when
applicable. Such a manuscript should include the notation that the study was
approved by the institutional committee on human research.
MANUSCRIPTS
Must be in English, double-spaced
(including references, tables, legends and footnotes). Abstract, references,
tables, and legends should each begin on a new page. All accepted manuscripts
are subjected to editing.
TITLE PAGE
Should include authors’ names, and departmental and
institutional affiliations of each author. Designate one author as the
correspondent, and provide address, business and home telephone numbers, fax
number, and e-mail. Include a running head and up to 8 key words.
ABSTRACT
Not exceeding 150 words should incorporate data on background,
objective or hypothesis, subjects, methods or plan, results, conclusions.
LABORATORY VALUES
Should be described in both
the International System of Units (SI units) and in metric units in
parentheses.
FOOTNOTES
The text should be typed and
numbered consecutively at the foot of the appropriate page, using a line for
separation from the text.
REFERENCES
Should be cited consecutively in the text as superscript
numerals, and listed in the same numerical order at the end of the paper. List
the names of all authors.

Personal communications should not be
included in the list of references, but may be cited in the text in
parentheses. Papers accepted and in press may be listed, mentioning the name of
the journal.
ILLUSTRATIONS
Figures should be numbered
consecutively with Arabic numerals. Legends should be typed double-spaced on a
separate sheet. Photographs should be submited as glossy prints in addition to
electronic versions; other figures may be submitted electronically. Name of
first author and number and top of the figure should be indicated by a soft
pencil on the back of each figure. The cost of colour illustrations will be
charged to the author. One page of colour printing costs US$ 1,000; each
subsequent page costs $800. Figures to be printed in colour should be submitted
as pdf files.
TABLES
Each table must be typed on a
separate sheet and numbered consecutively using Arabic numbers. Large tables
will be treated as figures, and must be of acceptable quality for printing.
SHORT COMMUNICATIONS
Including illustrative patient reports should be structured as
an extended abstract, not exceeding four typed pages including up to six
references, one table and/or one figure.
FORUM AND CORRESPONDENCE
Consisting of comments on a
published paper or presenting a view on an important issue should not exceed
one typed page including references.
REPRINTS
Twenty-five reprints will be supplied free of charge for each
article. Additional reprints can be ordered from the publisher.
GALLEY PROOFS
Only printers’ errors may be corrected. There are no page
charges.
COPYRIGHT RESPONSIBILITY
This is clearly the author’s own responsibility. If any
figure(s), illustration(s), table(s) or extended quotation(s), etc. are to be
taken from material(s) previously published, the author(s) must secure
reproduction permission from the copyright owner.
ENQUIRIES
All correspondence should be

The original manuscript and diagrams will be discarded one
month after publication unless there is a written request for the material to
be returned to the author.
