ABSTRACT

A refined momentum-energy-integral solution for the entrance region flow of Herschel-Bulkley fluids in a circular pipe has been presented. The method consists in replacing the wall shear stress term in the momentum integral equation in terms of integrals of the axial velocity distribution. Comparison of the data leads us to believe that the analysis predicts a fairly reliable solution of the problem.
