Abstract

The paper deals with an experimental study of the behaviour of polyester polymer concrete (PPC). The paper describes the properties of the materials (concrete and its reinforcement), which were tested using different experimental techniques such as porosimetry and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Likewise, characterisation as macro-scale was carried out to define the basic mechanical properties of the material (modulus of elasticity, stress-strain curve, ultimate strength and bond). Based on the mechanical properties, the ultimate bearing capacity of reinforced PPC beams was estimated under bending loads.
